A cyber security incident was reported in the first week of April 2021 by various media pertaining to the posting of personal data of 533 million Facebook users worldwide on a forum popular with cybercriminals. And it is for free! The personal information include data such as mobile numbers, Facebook IDs, names, email addresses, birth dates and biographical information.

Facebook claimed that this trove of information are old data from a leakage that has happened and reported in 2019. However, experts warned that it cannot be presumed that all of the information would be outdated. Therefore, some users may still be vulnerable to phishing attacks and smishing campaigns.
